Three positive things, day forty eight

So, how was your Monday?

The first positive thing was.. going to the dentist? He's a really nice guy, he jokes around with the customers & staff, and he fills these holes in my teeth with a plant-based goo that solidifies via UV light. Neat.

The second positive happened when we were having dinner. Kian had some food from his mom's plate but they'd finished everything on her plate. I motioned that I'd get some from the kitchen, my awesomewife asked Kian if he wanted some more potatoes and said.. "Daddy's potatoes?" and he immediately turned around and looked at my plate with this hungry stare - I couldn't do anything but laugh :-)

The third positive thing was doing Drupal training with our friend and my #awesomewife again. Tonight we quietly dipped our toes into content architecture via content tagging.

Three positive things, day forty seven

That was a quiet Sunday.

The first positive thing was Kian carrying around a triceratops toy and saying "I got dino!" :)

The second positive thing was just having a quiet day at home with the family - we I made oatmeal for breakfast, we had leftovers for lunch, then chicken tikka masala for dinner, and along the way I introduced the family to the hilarious Catlateral Damage game. We didn't make it to a park or anything because the weather was threatening thunderstorms all day, though they never showed up, but it was nice to just have a day doing (almost) nothing.

The third positive thing was my #awesomewife making a surprise low-carb, nut-heavy zucchini bread from a giant zucchini a friend gave us from her garden.

Three positive things, day forty six

That was a fairly average Saturday.

The first positive thing was receiving an awesome picture from my #awesomewife of the three kids playing at a park, which has become my new desktop picture.

The second positive thing was fixing a bunch more things in a Drupal plugin for interacting with Twitter; I'll be releasing the full update in a day or two.

The third positive thing was getting some ukulele practice time, and showing Kian how to strum :) He wanted to nuts just smacking the strings, but for a little bit I got him to strum gently. Tomorrow (Sunday) I'm going to spend some time with his brothers showing them a few bits that I've learned on it.

Three positive things, day forty five

That was the end of a busy week.

The first positive thing was ended my work week on a high note, though you won't get to see the fruits of the labor for a little while.

The second positive thing was the whole family going for a post-dinner walk to a book store. We parked our car in one parking lot and walked along a trail half a mile to the book store, then back again. At the store we found Sandra Boynton's newest book, Spookie Pookie, which AFAIK is her first Halloween-themed book. And yes, it's another great one :)

The third positive thing was picking up Eddie Vedder's Ukulele Songs album, which will be a kind-of long-term goal for my personal journey learning the instrument.

Three positive things, day thirty six

Finally getting back to finishing writing on the day the fun happened. Doh!

The first positive thing today was my annual review at work. It went rather well, other than the fire alarm that caused an impromptu ten minute recess. ;-) More news soon. Or something.

The second positive thing was Kian finally starting to use a name for our 8yo rather than using the same word he uses for our 11yo. While he isn't quite able to say the word "Liam", saying "Yum" at least helps us understand who he's referring to. And it's funny hearing him say it :)

The third positive thing was jumping in for a quick round of Just Dance with the kids, in which I once again got a high score for Daft Punk's "Da Funk", besting my previous score. I'd resisted getting these games before, but we're having quite a lot of fun with them!
